Whether you are designing for pedestrian and storefront safety or protecting strategic buildings as part of a security design,Anti ram bollards are an affordable, high-value option. From steel bollard posts to resilient concrete structures, the variety of options available empowers security managers to craft a defence tailored to their site locations and threat assessments. Choosing a barrier type and crash rating that aligns with the specific risk profiles of your project will efficiently mitigate vehicle assailant attacks and VBIED terror attacks.

What are the requirements for bollards?

Vehicle crashes into building are common and often accidental but increasingly deliberate in the wake of hostile vehicle attacks (HVAs). While speed bumps and other types of traffic control barriers can slow down vehicles, they cannot stop them at will or prevent damage to retail structures or public spaces like open-air markets and promenades.

Anti ram bollards are designed to stop and deflect cars and trucks at the point of impact. Often installed in the ground, they can be raised or lowered by a buried electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic power unit and controlled with a range of access control devices. They are ideal for protecting a range of sensitive sites including airports, boarder patrol locations, Department of Defense and DOS facilities, port authorities and law enforcement locations.

The Gibraltar G-1131 shallow foundation bollard features a 12” shallow foundation and has undergone rigorous testing with an M50 P1 certification to positively deflect a 15,000 lb. truck at speeds of up to 50 mph.
